Level Design and Development

Burglar King (Unreal Engine Local Multiplayer Map - Collab Project)

Overview

This map was developed for a collaboration project, in which I was a junior level designer on a team of 15 people.

This collaboration project was completed over a 6 week period and I was tasked with designing a map for a local multiplayer party style game. As well as designing the map I was also tasked with meshing out the map and iterating the design from any feedback.

This project overall helped me with understand how to develop a project while working on team and communicating with other people in order to get work done. It also taught me importance of iterating map designs to get to the best version for gameplay to the best. This project also got me familiar with project managements websites, such as Jira. I had never used Jira before this so I had quickly learned how to use it to get this project done.

What I Learnt
1)How to work on a team to complete a project.

2)Improved my level design skills

3)Improved my teamwork and communication skills.

4)Better understanding of Jira to manage tasks across the team.

5)Importance of regularly check ups to see what's being implemented and if priorities change on certain features.

6)Importance of playtesting and iterating map designs based of feedback.
